We are looking for a Post-doctoral researcher (m/f) in the group of mass spectrometry and proteomics (led by Dr. Fan Liu) working 39 hours/week. The position is initially limited to 1 year with the potential of extension and starting as soon as possible.

Job description:

The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary project in the area of proteomics and interactomics. Using mass spectrometry as one of the major techniques, in combination with approaches in molecular biology, structural biology and bioinformatics, the candidate will focus on charting the proteome and interactome at subcellular level, with on emphasize on endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria.  She/he will set up proteomic and interatomic experiments and will perform biological follow-ups on important protein interactions to be discovered. The position offers a unique opportunity for candidates who have interdisciplinary background and wish to apply their scientific knowledge and skills to tackle fundamental biological questions. The FMP provides an international, innovative and interdisciplinary work environment, with access to state-of-the-art mass spectrometry platform, and many other infrastructures within the institute and on campus Buch.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a PhD degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or biology. Expertise in operating and maintaining HPLC and mass spectrometry is desirable. Skills in programming and large-scale data analysis are considered a strong benefit. The successful candidates should be highly motivated and have excellent scientific skills. She/he should have good communication skills in English and an open, proactive personality to work in a team of young researchers.
