Structural Chemistry and Computational Biophysics

Research Interests

Our group is using an integrated approach by combining NMR spectroscopy, computational methods together with other chemical and biophysical tools for studying structure, dynamics and their relationship to the function of a wide range of different systems. (i) We are interested in membrane proteins by having a special focus on ion channels, which play important roles in different physiological, pathophysiological, and pharmacological processes. (ii) We are using and improving residual dipolar coupling and residual chemical shift anisotropy enhanced NMR method to determine the structure and stereochemistry of challenging natural products. (iii) We are aiming to obtain a better understanding on protein-ligand interaction.
